🔍 How to Check If Your Tool Is Still Under Warranty

Don’t Guess — Here’s How to Know (and What to Do Next)

If your tool just quit on you, the first question on your mind is probably:

Is this thing still under warranty?

At Tool Beast, we help customers answer this question every day. The good news? It’s usually easier than you think — if you know what to look for.

🧾 1. Start With the Receipt

The most reliable way to check your warranty coverage is by locating your original proof of purchase. Most brands start the clock from the date you bought the tool — not when you first used it or registered it.

Keep in mind:

  • Warranties typically range from 1 to 5 years

  • Some brands (like RIDGID) offer lifetime coverage — if registered on time

  • If you don’t have a receipt, we may still be able to help using a serial number or manufacturer’s date code

🔧 2. Find Your Tool’s Serial Number or Date Code

Every tool has a unique serial number or manufacturing date code — usually printed on a sticker or stamped into the housing.

Look near:

  • The battery compartment

  • The back of the motor housing

  • The bottom or side of the tool body

✅ Pro Tip: Snap a photo of the model and serial number when you buy a new tool — future-you will thank you!

🛠️ 3. Know the Brand-Specific Rules

Each manufacturer has its own policy. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most common brands we see:

📤 4. Send Us Your Info — We’ll Check for You

Not sure what you’re looking at? No problem.

We offer free warranty assessments. Just bring your tool in (or schedule a pickup), and we’ll:

  • Check the serial number and model

  • Confirm brand-specific warranty eligibility

  • Submit a claim on your behalf, if it qualifies

You can also send your details and photos through our Warranty Check Form.

💡 A Quick Reminder:

Warranties only cover manufacturing defects. If the issue is caused by wear, impact, or misuse, we’ll still assess your tool and send you a quote — no pressure, no charge for the diagnosis.
